Hedge roses and climbing roses are not the same thing. Hedge roses are typically compact, bushy roses that are often used for creating hedges or borders in gardens. Climbing roses, on the other hand, have long canes that can be trained to grow up trellises, walls, or other structures. While both types of roses can be beautiful additions to a garden, they have different growth habits and uses. **

The search for breeding roses and noble roses is likely focused on developing new varieties of roses that are not only visually stunning but also possess desirable traits such as disease resistance, fragrance, and long-lasting blooms. Additionally, the search may involve preserving and enhancing the characteristics of noble roses, which are historically significant and highly valued for their beauty and symbolism. Overall, the goal of the search is to advance the quality and diversity of roses available in the market. **

Wild roses and climbing roses are not the same thing. Wild roses are species of roses that grow naturally in the wild, and they can have a variety of growth habits including climbing, trailing, or shrubby. Climbing roses, on the other hand, are a specific type of rose that have been bred and cultivated to have long, flexible canes that allow them to climb and cover structures such as trellises, fences, and walls. While some wild roses may have a climbing habit, not all wild roses are climbers, and not all climbing roses are wild. **

Yes, roses can freeze in cold temperatures. When the temperature drops below freezing, the water inside the cells of the rose plant can freeze, causing damage to the plant. To protect roses from freezing, it is important to cover them with a protective material, such as burlap, or bring them indoors during cold weather. Additionally, planting roses in a location with good air circulation and avoiding late-season pruning can help reduce the risk of freezing. **

The Wars of the Roses were fought between the House of Lancaster and the House of York for control of the English throne. The House of York emerged victorious when Edward IV, a member of the York family, defeated the Lancastrian forces and became king in 1461. The Yorkists continued to hold power until 1485 when the Lancastrian Henry Tudor, who later became Henry VII, defeated Richard III at the Battle of Bosworth Field and established the Tudor dynasty. Therefore, the House of York ultimately won the Wars of the Roses. **
